The  Jammu and Kashmir Medicinal Plants Introduction Centre-JKMPIC, is a pioneer institution in pvt. sector to start cultivation of important indigenous medicinal plants and introduce many from other parts of the world. 

A preliminary study on cultivation of medicinal plants in Jammu and Kashmir was from this pvt. institution. The medicinal plant garden created, grown and nurtured by JKMPIC around its unit complex contains Kashmir’s largest privately owned collection of medicinal plants, spanning over 200 varieties, including rare and endemic medicinal plants suitable for Himachal, Kashmir, Utrakhand and cool areas of India.

All plants in the garden are carefully conserved for future generations further, a tissue culture lab. Established within the medicinal plant garden propagates and distributes rare medicinal plants as a further conservation effort. The plant introduction centre also nestled within the garden carries out advanced plant study  into the medicinal plants in the garden, researching and validating their traditional uses.

The garden is a treasure of herbal remedies that have been used for thousands of years by our ancestors for healing, health and beauty.

Pecan nut requires 300 to 500 chill hours to bear fruit – Kashmir Aziz variety can be grown in any region - Walnut is a mountain fruit found only in cold regions but pecan nut i.e. American walnut is warm and lowland. It can happen in other areas, but the trees at Pulwama in South Kashmir are full of fruits - today is the season for picking fruits -

Pecan nut tree is very large and shade tree – 30-60 plants can be planted in one acre - A large tree bears up to 70 kg of fruit which can cost Rs 1600-1850 per kg - Rs 3600 per kg in big store Srinagar/Jammu are selling. up to 95% because they think it is imported from the US-

Requesting the friends of agriculture to pay attention to the trial gardening of pecan nut. So that the rest of the farmers are encouraged to grow useful things.

Where can I get white sage seeds ?

There are a number of places online to order white sage seeds, and you may actually be able to find white sage plants at local garden centers if you’re in California. While no white sage seeds are going to have a phenomenal germination rate, I’ve found the salvia apiana seeds from Jammu and Kashhmir Medicinal Plants Introduction Centre  to be relatively reliable, as are the seeds from Ginkgo House. Both of those businesses are based in Kashmir  and have access to wild growing plants.
