Ziziphus jujuba,Jujube trees in Kashmir

 Ziziphus jujuba, commonly known as the jujube or Chinese date, is a deciduous tree or shrub native to Asia. Most jujube  trees are grown in the  areas of Budgam, Anantnag, Kupwara, Baramulla, Sopore, Srinagar, and Pulwama within Kashmir.

Appearance: Jujube trees can grow up to 5-10 meters tall, with a spreading crown and thorny branches. The leaves are glossy, oval, and typically 2-7 cm long.

Flowers: The small, greenish-yellow flowers bloom in summer, often attracting pollinators like bees.
Fruit: The fruit is small, round to oval, and can be green, yellow, or brown when ripe. They are sweet and can be eaten fresh or dried.

Cultivation
Climate: Jujubes thrive in warm climates and are drought-tolerant once established. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil.
